My Time

"I listened to this CD about ten times and it sort of hit me. This captures the 60's folk mood with precision and clarity. I was excited by the atmospheric and communitive nature of this CD. I used to be such a Dylan lover, but somehow lost some interest as I got older, mostly because I thought he was too wordy. Kevin is not as such. He explores interesting themes (love, faith), utilizes effective puns ("I'd be a loser to lose her") and champions the underdog ("Poorboy", "Who Am I", "Loaves and Fishes") throughout the CD. The social commentary of some of these songs is just as valid as Dylan's, and I found some tracks to be very beautiful and deep. Stock's voice is clear and manly, yet retains sensitivity. His guitar work is immaculate. Stock pulled off a very good album using mostly his voice and an acoustic guitar. In an age of rap, dance, and Britney Spears, I hope we hear a lot more from Kevin Stock."
